Humans are killing penguins. Directly and indirectly. Penguins die in fishing nets, and in oil spills. They die when their food supply disappears. They die when their homes and habitat are destroyed. They die as the climate changes.

Why are King Penguins under threat?

In the past, they were hunted for oil, blubber and food. Today, one of the main concerns is about the potential impacts of climate change, which could result in disruption to penguin feeding grounds. Without enough food, rearing young penguins becomes more and more difficult. Please will you help them survive?

So how can you help?

You can help BirdLife research and protect the places where penguins feed. We’ve identified 11 sites so far that need protecting. With the collaboration of several researchers, we need to meticulously track individual penguins to find more important places for them at sea. Then we need to advocate for the protection of these sites. Your help will really make a difference.
